Queens pays homage to the female cooks, chefs, and moms who made the flavors of Korea and Koreatowns come alive.

Clara Lee's own journey starts in the kitchen with her two queens: mom and grandma, who held up the heart of their homes with simple, comfort food, a spirit of sharing, and an open kitchen door.

Initially encouraged by them to resist gender stereotypes, Clara graduated from Cornell and Harvard and pursued a career in startups and edtech, uprooting her from New York to San Francisco. But her unquenchable love of cooking, fascination with the food culture of the Bay Area, and her curiosities to merge authentic Korean flavors with NorCal ingredients and sensibilities, eventually led to the creation of Queens.

Queens is a way home, to both past and present. It's about sharing with others the enduring foods, flavors, and techniques that Clara cared about growing up, and redefining them through a California lens.
